The apparel industry along with the fashion industry is one of the major contributors to landfills contributing to resource pollution and waste pollutionMost of such items have a short life-cycle and are eventually thrown out.

When textile clothing ends up in landfills the chemicals on the clothes, such as the dye, can cause environmental damage by leaching the chemicals into the ground.

“In India, women living in rural areas, work as laborers on farms or as undocumented workers on construction sites. Due to the population of the country, the minimum wage is so low that it is hard for people to earn “2 times of bread and butter” (minimum daily income to buy basic needs). I want to create opportunities for these women to step out! I want them to sing songs, play games and “stitch” their way to empowerment!” . I want them to sing songs, play games and “stitch” their way to empowerment!” says Wasudev

On Crowdera, Silaigram is raising funds for buying new and quality Sewing Machines for the underprivileged women working at their Workstation.
