Despite the steady rise in literacy rates over the past few decades, there are still approx. 770 million illiterate adults around the world.
These numbers are a staunch reminder of the work ahead needed to meet the Sustainable Development Goal- Quality Education, especially the target of ensuring that 100% of adults below 50 should achieve literacy and numeracy by 2030. The biggest hurdle we are facing today is the pandemic as its impact on education has been huge.
Where almost every school and institutions are closed and we all are witnessing educational disruption on such a large scale that no country has ever experienced before, there are few who are reshaping the roots of education by establishing digital classrooms for the underprivileged children.
Shashi Dream Foundation is one of them. They connected with Crowdera, during the pandemic to run a crowdfunding campaign to provide electronic gadgets like projectors, laptops, speakers, electrical inverters, study accessories and materials for establishing digital classrooms in remote areas of the country. Along with this, they are also ensuring fair wages for the teachers and created a hub of volunteers to provide quality education for the underprivileged kids.
With a fortifying goal for Quality Education, we can blur the lines of social-economical gaps as it has a potential to provide a platform of various opportunities for everyone.
Crowdera Foundation is also raising funds for the covid affected schools and students by providing them basic amenities to continue their learning. We are fighting against Covid with education as a prominent tool to establish equality.
P.S.
